                      Diptyque L'Eau Trois

Introduction :-

L'Eau Trois Eau de Toilette was launched in 1975 under the one of the great luxury niche fragrance house in the world is known as Diptyque. L'Eau Trois Eau de Toilette by Diptyque is a Woody Spicy fragrance for women and men. At the top of Mount Athos, after a long hike, we sought shelter from the burning sun within the walls of a monastery. When we opened the doors, the scent of resinous shrub mingled with the incense and myrrh burned during the service. A spicy, woody scent, mysterious and soothing. The origin of this name is a mystery. Does it refer to the three wise kings, the three founders of diptyque or the third fragrance created by the brand. When thinking about L'Eau Trois means "Water Three", because it was the third fragrance launched by Diptyque in 1975), three words and three images come to mind. Three words are Luxe, calme et volupté (luxury, peace, and delight) - Beaudelaire. Three images are The first is a peaceful hammam or steam bath, where a camphorus oil is mixed with the water vapour, mixing the warm and the fresh in a delicious, calming, yet invigorating sensation. The second is a still, quiet pine forest after the rain. The third is a small empty chapel where myrrh and olibanum have just been burnt without smoke, leaving the visitor with a ghost presence. “The church, which stood in gloomy isolation at the outer edge of the village, was of age-blackened wood, overgrown with green moss, and surmounted by three conical cupolas. It was at once apparent that no service had been held in it for many a long year. Candles were now burning before almost every icon.” Nikolai Gogol, a Ukrainian-born Russian writer, paints such a vivid picture of the village church in his story Viy that as continued to read, almost smell the decaying woods, the grey incense smoke and the peeling resinous varnish on the pillars. It was in Diptyque L’Eau Trois notwithstanding the creators’ intent to capture the aroma of Northern Greece that have found the scent of that forsaken church, haunting and intoxicating. L’Eau Trois by Diptyque is a woody perfume with spicy notes. At the top of Mount Athos, after a long hike, the perfumers sought shelter from the burning sun within the walls of a monastery. When they opened the doors, the scent of resinous shrub mingled with the incense and myrrh burned during the service. A spicy, woody scent, mysterious and soothing. A woody, spicy, mysterious and soothing fragrance. On the heights of Mount Athos between the walls of the monastery, one escaped the scorching sun after a long walk. And when the doors were opened, the smell of resinous bushes mixed with the incense and myrrh that was burned during the services.  Diptyque aimed to capture the “scent of the mountainous coastline of Northern Greece” they have done an outstanding job. The name too fits with Greece, even though that was most likely not the intention of the makers. Presumably they named it L’Eau Trois because it was their third perfume in the line, but orthodoxy being so tightly embedded in the way of life of the Greeks, but think of the meaning of “three” and the role of the holy trinity in Greek daily life. Sensory input, in the form of sights, sounds and smells often creates the unsettling feeling of pained longing and nostalgia in heart. It is the scent that wafts from the hillsides and valleys in the summer as the sun bakes the herbal vegetation and shrubbery mercilessly. This is not the scent of spring or winter. This scent does not come through in shade or moisture. This is the marriage of the burning sun and the blessed herbs that withstand it. Oregano is the most prominent of those herbs, its herbal and somewhat sour character perfectly blended with thyme, myrtle, rosemary and pine. Drive a car with the window on the same roads. In the same sweltering heat, squinting their eyes because of the same glaring sun. Engulfed by the same aromatic and herbal smells. The beach and crystal clear azure water that awaits them. Both pictures are from Chalkidiki in Northern Greece. Decorated Church and Monasteries on Christmas.

Remark :-

L'Eau Trois is one of the most popular fragrance from the brand Diptyque and it is fresh, airy, green, aromatic, incense, smoky, woody fragrance. It is light, refreshing, sensuous, crowd pleasing, Masculine fragrance for Men. On skin and blotter, the opening is very aromatic, herbal and forest-y even, with a hint of pine and a camphorous facet that strongly associates with eucalyptus, but not quite. Probably the cistus note the rosemary the hammam meets the forest for a grounding effect that makes want to breathe deeply and stay in the moment. The caraway hits hard on skin, definitely savory, reminiscent of celery even. On blotter and fabric, the first notes persist and the caraway just makes a peek that compliments the olibanum and the myrrh that then start to come out. The camphorous notes are gone, leaving with a pure, calming, churchy vibe of olibanum and myrrh, with a hint of pine. L'Eau Trois is an aromatic fragrance that finishes on incense. Lacking the classical sequentially defined structure of top, middle and base notes, L’Eau Trois oozes like the sticky sap rolling down the tree bark. It blends the rustic herbal notes with the ambery richness of resins. The green overtones are sharp and roughhewn, and yet paired with the assertive character of the dry and woody composition, the effect is quite memorable. Verdant mosses, sunburnt grasses and damp rocks come alive as one inhales the fragrance of L’Eau Trois. This pastoral theme would have been interesting, but it is the luminous note of frankincense that lifts this Diptyque fragrance out of ordinary. One almost hears the somber incantations and feels the heat of beeswax candles. L'Eau is a mystical note of myrrh joins the resinous smell of the aromatic bushes of the mountainous coast of Northern Greece. The atmosphere of the Orthodox churches, the breath of history. A passionate and spiritual perfume. Recalls the scent of coniferous shrubs found on Mount Athos and along the mountainous coasts of northern Greece. Myrrh and myrtle evoke the powerful emotions felt during Orthodox worship at churches where one sought refuge to escape the sweltering heat of the world. Any Man can wear this at anytime and anywhere in perfect circumstances at formal, semi formal, and casual occasions.

We suggest everybody should try L'Eau Trois and it comes with expensive price tag so keep in mind before buying it. From the one of the great luxury niche fragrance brand in the world Diptyque.
